What does our art lean into?
At The Peepal Tales, we believe that our art is “a walk in nature.” It is intricate and layered, stimulating for the senses, enriched with textures and patterns, and most of all, it surprises you when you least expect it!
About Our Founder
Ever since summer holidays as a child, my sister and I spent all our studying-free hours allowing our creativity to take over us as we adorned corners of our house with beautiful little homemade objects.
I was the perfect-little-genius-daughter who scored the highest distinctions, graduated with an engineering degree and secured herself a coveted spot in the corporate world. Alongside my corporate job description, art always continued to hold a special place in my heart (and the walls of my home!).

After 12 years of making PPTs (I swear they were pretty!) and the simultaneous birth of my daughter, I decided to take a break and explore opportunities beyond what I had initially imagined for myself. I stumbled upon the idea of having my designs be beautifully displayed onto products and, looking back, I recall this being “the moment” when the seeds of The Peepal Tales had been sown in my mind (and heart).

At the risk of sounding too filmy, I truly believe “when you ardently desire something, the entire universe works to make it happen!” I continued to be blown away by the potential of my artwork being used for endless possibilities, and finally decided to dig deeper.
I began taking small steps (starting my Instagram page in 2019), navigating through finding my style and tribe, and building meaningful connections along the way! Even though I was growing at snail’s pace, I was just glad it was finding and taking its own shape and form.

When I’m not painting or visualizing my new designs, you can find me reading a book, buying plants (you can never have enough, am I right?), learning new things and pampering my family (this alternates between playing referee for my two little kids in their daily tussles, and proving to them who I love the most haha)

Nature, an ever-inspiring force, continues to serve as the strongest inspiration for my artwork. I constantly find myself in awe of the endless treasures of patterns, colour palettes, and textures that it has to offer! (I mean have you ever noticed the symmetry on butterflies!?)
Additionally, I thrive on crafting and weaving stories as I visualise and create my artwork. Every brushstroke, concept and design carries with it a cherished memory and strong emotions.

What better way to create art and personalise designs if it doesn’t serve as a source of reminiscence?
Thus, “The Peepal Tales” was born as an offspring of both my passions: nature’s majestic elements and my love for storytelling. At the first glance, “Peepal” makes for a great pun on the word ‘people’, as we aim to develop a strong community, and also bring together diverse arts from across India.
Our “peepal” are very important to us since we love our community as much, if not more, than we love nature’s majestic beauty. If you dig deeper (another nature pun??? ;) ), the Peepal tree is a symbol of abundance in Indian culture and it also represents the tree of life, making it the perfect symbol to represent the Universe’s never-ending expanse.

Thank you for the magical stories that brighten my days and spark my imagination
